Each time he uses an ability, Malgrove readies a wrathful shot. His next basic attack has increased damage and range.

How It Works
Malgrove is a distance-scaling sniper. Sniper Shot rewards picking your angle carefully: the further the line, the harder the hit, which makes long corridors his best friend.
Wrathful Shot turns ability casts into a resource. Cycling your cooldowns keeps his basic attacks at extended range, so the correct play is often to cast something you do not need.
Strategy
Place Trap of Thorns in corridors, not on the wave. A rooted rotation is worth more than a rooted soldier.
Vengeance Veil is a repositioning tool. Drop it, walk to a new angle and open with a full distance Sniper Shot while they are still searching for you.
Tips
- Always fire down the longest available line.
- Cast a cheap ability before a fight just to arm Wrathful Shot.
- Trap behind you as you retreat — it covers the exact path they will take.

How far does Sniper Shot reach?
Further than any other basic ability in the playtest — and the damage grows the longer the shot travels.
Why is Malgrove only B tier?
He has no answer to a large soldier push. His damage is single-target, so a 300-soldier wave walks past him.
