Why there is no date yet
March of Giants is a live service shaped by test feedback, and the language around it is deliberately open. Ubisoft describes the Pioneer Playtest as a way to adjust the game, and the roadmap is published as a document that will change rather than as a promise.

The minimum targets 1080p at 75 percent render scale and 60 FPS on low settings, while the recommended profile targets 1440p at 100 percent render scale and 60 FPS on high settings. A broadband connection is required, and the page states that a persistent internet connection is required to play.
How to play before release
The only way to play March of Giants before launch is the Pioneer Playtest. It is free, it runs on Steam, and Ubisoft has said it is under no NDA, which means impressions and footage are allowed to circulate.
