Goliath does not win lanes with damage — he wins them with numbers. Every soldier that lives long enough to attack makes the next wave larger, and Call of Courage turns that stockpile into a team-wide push.
The catch is speed. If the enemy can erase a soldier wave in one ability, the engine never starts, which is why his placement depends heavily on what the other three players picked.
